As a 100% community funded program we rely on supporters like you to help others in our community have access to fresh food resources. By donating you not only help our organization but you are helping various different nonprofit organizations and families in the Cleveland area.
Founded in 2016, our name and purpose hold true to this very day. Ubuntu has an empowering meaning behind the Zulu Phrase, “Having unconditional respect and love for all mankind”. Many children, families, and elderly do not have adequate access to fresh food resources, some of which also live within communities or neighborhoods that have and continue to experience a significant loss in housing stock.
With more and more vacant lots surfacing as demolition rates increase, this creates a physical boundary to have access to fresh foods through proximity to markets, transit options, time limitations. There are organizations in Cuyahoga County working to close the gap of food insecurities within the region. However, the operations and planning for the expansion of fresh food programming can be time-intensive, strenuous, and expensive. Our work helps to align resources for organizations and communities that are working towards increasing their fresh food assets.
Our team of dedicated volunteers and the Board of Directors are passionate about increasing fresh food resources in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. We provide a toolbox to organizations, municipalities, and communities looking to improve or enhance their fresh food assets. If you are interested in being a part of the discussion feel free to reach out to us.
Providing innovative solutions to increase fresh food and environmental assets and resources for communities.
Your generous contribution will allow us to stay on track of meeting our goals this season.
